Our
firm provides a full range of employee benefit plan services through our
wholly-owned subsidiary, Empire Pension Consultants, Inc. (EPC). EPC is a full-service pension administration
company specializing in retirement plans for small businesses. We administer 401K plans, profit sharing
plans, defined benefit plans, money purchase pension plans, age-weighted plans,
and tiered allocation plans. We take
pride in our ability to explain all facets of a retirement plan in terms that
you can understand. Customer service is
the hallmark of our company. We will
advise and assist you through all steps in starting and operating a qualified
plan for your business, including:
- Plan Design, to be sure you get just the
right type of plan for your business;
- Plan Installation, including preparation
of all legal documents, employee communications, and submission to the IRS, if
required;
- Annual Administration, including
determination of eligible employees, calculation of contributions, accounting
for trust assets, preparation of plan reports and required IRS & DOL forms,
and preparation of participant statements;
- Amendments and Restatements, as required
by law, or when needed to improve the design of your plan;
- Employee Meetings, to help explain the
provisions of the plan to your employees and to answer questions;
- Pension
Benefit Guaranty Corporation if you have a defined benefit plan that is
required to file annually with the PBGC, we will prepare all necessary
calculations and filings for you;
- Plan
Termination Assistance When it comes time to terminate your plan, we can
assist you in all facets of the termination, including IRS submissions, PBGC
submissions, benefit calculations, Form 1099-R filings, and all other details
to make the process as painless as possible for you;
- IRS audits - nobody likes to be audited,
but it is a fact of life that the IRS periodically does random audits of
retirement plans. We are experts at
dealing with the IRS, and we have never had a penalty levied against a plan
that we have administered from its inception.
We work with your company
officers, attorneys, investment advisors, and any other members of your companys
team to be sure your retirement plan provides the benefits you desire for you
and your employees. We attend regular
classes to stay current on all new legislation affecting your plan, and when
appropriate, we provide you with information so that you can make knowledgeable
decisions regarding your plan. We work
with small to medium sized plans, including one-participant plans up to plans
with more than 100 participants.
